Nira is the Indonesian name for coconut blossom nectar, a traditional sweetener used for centuries. This tree sap (think tropical maple syrup) is harvested from the blossom pods before coconuts form and tastes like untamed brown sugar.

Compared to cane sugar, Nira uses 1/10th the water to produce 150% more sugar per acre, all while capturing carbon and supporting biodiversity. Nira palms are planted as the upper canopy of “food forest” farms, with mango, papaya, cacao, coffee, ginger, and turmeric growing beneath.
