OUR JOURNEY

We were dedicated kombucha brewers in college, but the heaping cups of refined sugar used to drive the fermentation never sat well with us. A bumper crop of beets in our backyard garden spurred our first batches of beet kvass — a fermented elixir from Eastern Europe — and this journey began. 

Turns out not everyone loves beets as much as we do! So, we developed ‘west coast kvass’ using sliced carrots plus juices to create crisp, refreshing alternatives to sugary commercial kombuchas.

Our kvass is ‘whole-food cultured’ from sliced beets or carrots and 7 well-studied probiotic species. They contain No Added Sugar and significantly less Total Sugar than leading kombuchas.
